Admissions
Following a visit to the school and on receipt of the registration form and fee, we will confirm a place is available for the sessions required. If not a second choice will be offered. The Nursery will always do its best to give every parent/child the sessions they require, but unfortunately it is not always possible. Admission will be followed by an agreeable induction day to allow your child to settle easily into the nursery
environment.
Places are offered on a first come first served basis. All children between the ages of 21/2 and 5 years from different cultures and religions are accepted and their traditions and festivals embraced. Siblings will take precedence over any other admissions.
Clothing and Personal Property
 |
Each child should bring a spare set of clothing in a named bag in case of accidents, slippers or plimsolls for the classroom. Children should also be provided with a named painting apron for art activities. Children must be suitably dressed for the weather conditions pertaining, e.g. a pair of Wellingtons, coats, hats and gloves (winter), or sun hat/sun cream (summer) for outdoor play. All clothing should be clearly labelled with the child’s name. We would ask that your child not bring any personal effects such as toys, sweets, money or jewellery into the nursery unless it is related to project or topic work.
Acceptance of children who are not fully toilet trained is customary. |
Refreshments
Water is provided throughout the day via a water dispenser. We have a mid-morning break. Each child is offered, fruit or a biscuit and given the choice of milk, water or squash. Children will sit down to lunch at 12:30pm. We ask that you provide a packed lunch and a drink, which will be stored in a cool place for them until it is
required.
If your child is allergic or has special dietary needs please complete your registration form and inform the Head Teacher, who will advise all other members of staff.
Collection Policy
The Little House Montessori aims to maintain high security standards. A child is only released to the parent/guardian or notified authorised person. Please ensure that when anyone other than yourselves is collecting the child the “Drop off/ collection form” is completed and that the Nursery teachers have been previously introduced to that person.
We ask that you do not drop your child off any earlier than 5 minutes before the start time and to pick your child up no later than 5 minutes after a session has finished. If a parent/guardian knows that they will be late please inform a member of staff before the session is due to finish. Exceptions can be made but only with the agreement of the Principal or Head Teacher. |
