There is great potential within the body for healing and change. Pilates is a safe, effective and dynamic system of body conditioning exercise that enhances body awareness and focuses on the deep muscles that best support posture. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s this technique is based on the principles of breath, control, concentration, flow, precision and centering.
Working towards efficiency of movement and an overall sense of balance in the body, Miranda believes that Pilates can be fun, and highly beneficial to everyone regardless of age or previous fitness level.
Individual or Duet tuition available. Classes last 1 hour or 45 minutes and are tailored to your needs. Any small equipment used will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement. Consultation with your doctor may be required before starting classes.
Pilates helps to:
- release of tension and stress
- improve posture and body awareness
- support women through pregnancy and post natal recovery
- manage rehabilitation from injury
- increase muscle strength and flexibility
